Epidermis - The outer fibers on a hemp stalk, like bark on a tree. It is used to make textiles, cordage, insulation, fiberglass and acrylic products.

Bast Fiber & Hurd - The inner part of a hemp stalk. It is used to make paper, hempcrete, fiberboard, molded plastics and fuel.
